Some interesting Stats on my 2013 Chevy Volt.  as of 12/18/2022:

  1. Current age of car: 9 years
  2. Number of miles driven: 135,000
  3. Energy used by the car
    1. Amount of gasoline used: 1080 gal.
    2. Amount of total electricity used: 32,400 kwh
      1. Electricity supplied by LELD is ~40% renewable sources and remainder from Natural gas.
      2. Electricity from renewable sources: 12,960 kwh
      3. Electricity from fossil fuels: 19440 kwh
    3. Total CO2 emissions of the car
      1. from electricity use: 19,000 lbs (from 19,440 kwh electricity generation
      2. from gasoline use: 19.6 * 1080 = 21,170 lbs)
      3. Total CO2 emissions of car: 40,170 lbs.
    4. Total CO2 emissions of an EQUIVALENT GASOLINE powered car:
      1. 75,600 lbs
      2. assumptions:
        1. 35 miles per gallon
        2. 3857 gallons used
      3. This car helped reduce CO2 emissions by: ~35,600 lbs. so far!!
