- Number of miles driven: 135,000
- Energy used by the car
- Amount of gasoline used: 1080 gal.
- Amount of total electricity used: 32,400 kwh
- Electricity supplied by LELD is ~40% renewable sources and remainder from Natural gas.
- Electricity from renewable sources: 12,960 kwh
- Electricity from fossil fuels: 19440 kwh
- Total CO2 emissions of the car
- from electricity use: 19,000 lbs (from 19,440 kwh electricity generation
- from gasoline use: 19.6 * 1080 = 21,170 lbs)
- Total CO2 emissions of car: 40,170 lbs.
- Total CO2 emissions of an EQUIVALENT GASOLINE powered car:
- 75,600 lbs
- assumptions:
- 35 miles per gallon
- 3857 gallons used
- This car helped reduce CO2 emissions by: ~35,600 lbs. so far!!
